The Straum Jan Mayen Black Sand Automatic – SR.021.1005 is a striking expression of nature’s raw elegance, inspired by the dramatic volcanic shores of Jan Mayen. Its Black Sand dial reveals a landscape sculpted by wind and tide, where jagged ridges echo miniature underwater dunes formed by the perpetual motion of sand and sea. Subtle vertical striping emerges under shifting light, while multiple stamping and finishing stages—including a refined fumé treatment—create remarkable depth and dimension. Diamond-cut hands and meticulously applied indices, filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova Grade A, ensure exceptional legibility with a refined glow.

Crafted in robust 316L stainless steel, the 38.7mm case (40.7mm including the crown) offers a balanced presence at just 11.5mm thick. A sunburst-brushed bezel with polished chamfer frames the double-domed sapphire crystal, treated with internal anti-reflective coating for pristine clarity. The screw-down crown and threaded sapphire caseback provide 100 meters of water resistance, blending durability with sophistication.

Powering the watch is the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, Soigné grade and adjusted in four positions. With 24 jewels and an impressive 68-hour power reserve, this finely crafted Swiss Made caliber delivers dependable, time-only precision visible through the sapphire display back.

Completing the design is a custom CNC-machined stainless steel bracelet, tapering from 24.8mm to 18mm for exceptional comfort.
