In 2024, the watch manufacturer Alexander Shorokhoff celebrated a successful start with the introduction of their first completely round wristwatch, the “SHAR,” created by Alexander Shorokhov to mark the company’s 30th anniversary. This innovative timepiece has been awarded the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 in the “Product” discipline, category “1.07 Watches/Jewelry,” by the iF International Forum Design GmbH, the world’s oldest independent design institution. The “SHAR” model, specifically the AS.SH01-5 in stainless steel with a malachite dial, impressed the 132 member international jury amidst nearly 11,000 submissions from 72 countries.

The iF DESIGN AWARD, established in 1954, is a globally recognized hallmark of exceptional design, and its logo is an international symbol of outstanding design achievements. This award adds to the model’s accolades, having already been named the Architecture & Design Collection Awards 2022 “GOLD WINNER” in the Luxury Watch Design category by the ADC Architecture & Design Community.

The “SHAR” stands out with its unique spherical design, where the case and sapphire crystal blend seamlessly into a sphere, connected via a single screw mechanism for a waterproof fit. The watch features spherical lugs, a soft crocodile leather strap, and a Swiss ETA.2671 automatic movement with a hand engraved rotor. The genuine malachite dial enhances its luxurious appeal.

Alexander Shorokhov’s fascination with the spherical form, found in nature and art, inspired the “SHAR,” a name meaning “sphere” in Russian. This bold, limited edition watch, with only 30 pieces, represents a blend of artistry and technical precision. It measures 25 mm in diameter and height, offers a 42 hour power reserve, and is water resistant up to 30 meters. The watch is completed with silver colored hands, a 16 mm alligator leather strap, and an engraved stainless steel buckle.
