Grand Seiko Snowflake – A True Icon
The Snowflake has become one of the most iconic watches in the Grand Seiko lineup and is part of the Grand Seiko Heritage Collection. The dial evokes the image of freshly fallen snow. The watch first debuted in Japan in 2005 and made its international debut in 2010. This watch boasts the 9R65 Spring Drive movement with 72 hours of power reserve, date feature, and a high intensity grade 5 titanium case.

The Dial
The dial of the Snowflake evokes the image of freshly fallen snow. It takes over 80 separate steps for Grand Seiko to create the Snowflake dial. These processes include die stamping, machining, plating, printing, setting the logo and indexes.
Spring Drive:
Powered by the Caliber 9R65 movement with a 72 hour power reserve. The power reserve can be tracked by the power reserve indicator found at the 8 o’clock position. The Snowflake displays a screwed exhibition caseback showcasing the beautiful 30 jewel Grand Seiko Spring Drive movement with the iconic Grand Seiko Lion Emblem.The Spring Drive is a highly innovative and unique watch technology.
First debuted in 1999 shaking the watch industry. It generates energy like other luxury mechanical watches but combines this with an electronic regulator to deliver a highly accurate watch unmatched by traditional mechanical watch movements. Not only is the Spring Drive highly accurate, it also boasts the aesthetic pleasure of a smooth gliding hand.
Zaratsu:
The Snowflake shows off the incredible Zaratsu polishing that Grand Seiko has become famous for. Zaratsu is a mirror polishing technique that is hand finished. Experts are trained for years in Japan and work individually on the various hands and indices on the watch. Grand Seiko exemplifies Japanese craftsmanship and pride in the small details.
Specifications:
The SBGA211 is a 41mm diameter watch, with 12.5mm thickness, and a 49mm lug-to-lug measurement. The Snowflake has a water resistance of 100 meters making it a very versatile watch that can serve both as an elegant and sporty piece. This Grand Seiko is equipped with a dual curve Sapphire Crystal with anti-reflective coating helping increase the legibility of the dial.
The Snowflake is made of high intensity Grade 5 titanium, an extremely anti-corrosive and robust material. The Titanium Snowflake is 30% lighter than a traditional stainless steel watch, playing into its name and further evoking the imagery of Snow through its lightness. The total weight of the Snowflake is just 100 grams!
