Grand Seiko captures the serene beauty of winter in the Heritage “Snowflake” Quartz, SBGX359. Inspired by the snow-covered Hotaka mountains visible from the Shinshu Watch Studio—where every Grand Seiko quartz timepiece is crafted—the softly textured white dial reflects the intricate patterns formed by wind-swept alpine snow. Rather than using white paint, Grand Seiko achieves this luminous finish through a meticulous silver-plating, clear coating, and finishing process, creating subtle depth and a brilliance that shifts beautifully with the light. A vivid blue tempered steel seconds hand provides an elegant contrast, gliding with remarkable precision across the pristine surface.

The stainless steel case measures a refined 33.0mm in diameter and just 9.1mm thick, making it the slimmest and most compact 9F creation to date. Its balanced proportions ensure exceptional comfort, while Zaratsu-polished surfaces and finely brushed planes highlight Grand Seiko’s signature clarity and craftsmanship. A dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating offers pristine legibility.

At its heart is Caliber 9F51, a high-precision quartz movement accurate to ±10 seconds per year. Assembled by hand in Shinshu, it features individually aged quartz crystals, thermo-compensation, a Twin Pulse Control Motor, and a Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism for smooth, exact seconds-hand motion.
