OMEGA commemorated the 60th Anniversary of James Bond with a special edition of the iconic Seamaster. This iteration of the timepiece blends the 1995 Pierce Brosnan Seamaster Professional with OMEGA's iconic mesh bracelet. This edition features some extra details inspired by Bond, such as an animated 007 on the caseback.
If the James Bond references aren’t a major selling point for you, or maybe you prefer black over blue, perhaps you may prefer the Seamaster Diver 300M No Date. This sophisticated timepiece comes with a rubber deployant strap and you can also opt for the Bond-style mesh bracelet, either already fitted or ordered separately for variety.
The Seamaster Diver 300M No Date is very similar to the 60th Anniversary Bond edition. It has the same aluminum wave dial (but in black) and a similar style aluminum bezel, plus that iconic curved sapphire crystal. What sets it apart is its clean and minimalist design compared to the ceramic bezel and dials that feature a date complication.
The Specs
The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M No Date features a 41.6mm case width, a 13.7mm thickness, a 48.8mm lug-to-lug length, and a 19.9mm lug width. The crystal diameter is 31.3mm, and weighs 119.62 grams. The case has a blend of high-polish edges and a matte finish on the sides. It also features a helium escape valve at the 10 o'clock position (useful in a submersible decompressing situation), and a screw-down crown at the 3 o'clock position featuring Omega’s logo.
The sapphire crystal is curved, sitting slightly above the bezel, which is made of anodized aluminum in black with a white diving scale. As expected from a true dive watch, the bezel is uni-directional. The clicks from the bezel are precise and crisp, though not the easiest to grip with gloves. However, it feels satisfying when you turn it.
Dial Design
The dial is made of black aluminum, with a laser-engraved wave pattern. The applied rhodium-plated markers feature white centers, and the 3, 6, and 9 markers are rectangles, with dual rectangles at the 12 o'clock position and circles for the rest. This watch has white brackets surrounding the edge of the dial, representing the minutes between large markers.
OMEGA’s logo, "Seamaster," and "Professional" are printed in white at the top. The hands are silver-toned sword-style hour and minute hands, with a simple line second hand featuring a circle near the tip. The text "Co-Axial," "Master Chronometer," and "300m/1000ft" are at the bottom of the dial.
For lume, all markers, the hour hand (light blue hue), and the minute hand (green hue) are luminous, with additional lume on the bezel markers. This separates it from standard ceramic Seamasters, which only have lume on the pip. The caseback is open, revealing the beautifully finished rotor of the OMEGA 8806 caliber.
Movement and Durability
The OMEGA Seamaster 300M No Date houses the OMEGA 8806 automatic co-axial caliber, which is METAS-certified and has a tolerance of -0 to +5 seconds per day. The movement offers a 55-hour power reserve, beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour, and is anti-magnetic to 15,000 gauss. Plus, its co-axial escapement means a service interval of 6-8 years, significantly longer than the typical 3-5 years seen with most watches.
Strap Options • Water Resistance • Price
In addition to the black rubber strap on this model, OMEGA also offers a deployant clasp for it. This feature was previously only available through special order. The strap has vertical raised areas and small, round holes. The deployant clasp enhances both style and practicality. This timepiece is rated to be water-resistant up to 300 meters, making it perfect for diving. The price for the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M No Date is $6,200.
Conclusion
This timepiece looks fantastic on the rubber strap and the deployant clasp is a great feature that OMEGA has introduced. Enthusiasts and collectors have been anticipating this for quite some time.
The dial's simplicity is another part of its allure. Compared to some other Seamasters, this no-date version feels much cleaner. The aluminum wave dial is there, but it’s subtle. The oxalic anodized aluminum bezel is matte black, which adds a touch of vintage charm while still looking premium.
While the 60th Anniversary Bond piece is unique, OMEGA has made this black-dial version a more versatile option. It draws on the No Time to Die design and, in many ways, feels even more special now. The addition of the mesh bracelet, the clean dial, and the matte black bezel all combine to make this a highly attractive option.
It wears smaller than its 42mm size depending on individual wrist size, and it is very comfortable. This timepiece is highly recommended to anyone looking for a classic, elegant watch that is perfect for daily wear, with excellent legibility and an incredibly clean design.
