The Ball Watch Company in cooperation with the
Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum
in Baltimore, MD, has produced the First Mile
timepiece in commemoration of the first mile of commercial railroad track in the US, which was laid in Baltimore in 1831 by the B&O Railroad Company (est. 1827). We
celebrate the return of America's iconic railroad watch to the Home
of American Railroading.

The Ball Watch company was established in 1891 in Cleveland, Ohio, by Webb C. Ball. The original Ball pocket watches became the Railroad Standard. Now made in Switzerland, the Ball Watch is famous for its "accuracy under adverse conditions." |

| Conceived in a meeting between B&O Railroad Museum officials Little Treasury Jewelers in October 2007, followed by buy-in from Ball Watch USA and Ball Watch Switzerland, the idea of a B&O Ball watch was announced at the Ball Watch Museum Tour event hosted by the B&O Railroad Museum in May 2008. This limited production B&O watch is the initial step in an ongoing cooperation between Ball Watch and and the B&O Railroad Museum, to be followed by a limited edition "Royal Blue" watch, commemorating the fabled B&O deluxe passenger service of that name between New York and Washington, DC. |

Ball Watch Company will contribute a portion of the sales of the First Mile to the B&O Railroad Museum. Little Treasury Jewelers will also contribute a portion of its sales of the First Mile to the B&O Railroad Museum.
